Work in progress shots of my camera manual.

After drawing out each bits for my camera manual, such as the camera, icons etc, and also doing research on the different pages throughout my manual, i then proceeded in scanning them all into Photoshop to then begin my design onto the template. I decided on the theme blue and pink, as pastel colours work really well together.

Here i am filling in my drawings on Photoshop which i have scanned in with colour. i'm doing this using the lasso tool, which is where you draw around the space in which you want to be filled with, then clicking shift, backspace and then choosing my colour which in this case would be either pink or blue.

I adjusted the threshold on all my drawings. After adding colour to my icons i then started setting out my design like how i wanted it. I played about with different positions and sizes before i was eventually happy with the outcome.

For the headings on each of the sections i decided on using a black splodge like back which then contrasted with the white text on top of it, which i really liked!

My manual included double pages, for these pages i used the sections on shooting modes and white balance due to them holding alot more information that the others, this helped me spread them out more over the two half's.

After adding the finishing touches such as the back colour on some sections, to my manual i was happy with my finished product. I then proceeded to print it out!
And here is my finished printed out version, i am very pleased with it!

Sketches in my book.

Here are a few sketches which i did in my book before scanned the chosen ones in. 2 of the 4 pictures were done in a task in which we were timed to do them. We started off with 5 minutes and eventually got down to only having 5 seconds to do the drawing. This helped me get used to not taking so much time on one drawing, and letting go a little, producing a cool end piece! it made me learn that not everything needs to have loads of detail and still look good. I enjoyed this task as it was funny, but also hard and stressful!

Finished business cards.

I like how my business cards contrast with each other, with the use of both black and the white backgrounds and also the black and white text. Keeping a theme throughout which i like. I am very happy with the outcome of my business card, but there's always room for improvement!

Back of business cards.

Once i had created my design for the back, i copied and pasted my design over the 8 templates. I did the by clicking on the writing, and at the same time holding alt and shift so that they didn't move and were still perfectly aligned.

Here is a close up shot of my business card. I centered aligned all 4 rows to make it look more professional. I followed suit of the front of the business card by leaving white space around the back writing also.

front of the business card.

Here is the final design of the front of my business card which i produced on Photoshop. I drew in the lines using the pen tool between the letters. I decided on having a dark background against the light text due to it contrasting well together. I kept the type to a good size, so it fitted well onto the card. I decided on leaving white space around the whole of the card so that it made the type more bold, and eye catching, which is what you want a business card to be like.

Business card paper design.

Here are my paper design idea's for my business cards. Two fronts and two backs. I liked the top designed most, so i decided to use that one for my business card. I liked the design of the typeface as it is very bold and creative. For the back of the card i decided on the different types, i then realised when writing them out they might conflict with each other too much, leading on to me adjusting the design when creating my business card.
